Systems Engineer Senior

Aerient LLC. is looking for a Windows Systems Engineer (Senior) to add to our dynamic team of IT professionals. The successful candidate will coordinate with appropriate levels to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction. Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities independently, which are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment. Should provide identification/fixing for the problems within existing systems design/implementation of new systems, enhances the existing systems and participates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems. Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the architecture and engineering team and COTS products. Must possess experience of system engineering in one or more areas including Windows, telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, database/DBMS and middleware. This will be focused on Windows.

Required Experience/Skills:

• 5-12 years experience in the IT field, or equivalent post-high school studies depending on degree level
• Experience writing functional requirements and preparing functional designs
• Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills
• Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle
• Significant experience in requirements development and traceability through the SELC of a system – from requirements definition to design to development and testing and post production validation

Education:

• Master's Degree with at least 6 years experience or Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years experience in Computer Science or related discipline, preferred.

Security Clearance

• Holding active or previous experience and badged with the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) with Background Investigation(BI) is a plus.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to obtain/maintain National Security Clearance.
