Systems Architect (Mainframe OS)

Aerient LLC. is looking for a Mainframe OS Systems Architect to add to our dynamic team of IT professionals. The successful candidate will coordinate with appropriate levels to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction. Establishes system information requirements using analysis from the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large scale information systems. Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements, as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. As appropriate, ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures; the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models; and profiles of standards — such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Open Systems Environment, reference model — as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management solution of the application platform across the application program interface and external environment/software application. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization, and planning; and develops appropriate corrective action. This will be focused on Mainframe OS.

Required Experience/Skills:

• 5-12 years experience in the IT field, or equivalent post-high school studies depending on degree level held
• Experience writing functional requirements and preparing functional designs
• Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills
• Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle
• Significant experience in requirements development and traceability through the SELC of a system – from requirements definition to design to development and testing and post production validation

Education:

• Master's Degree with at least 6 years experience or Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years experience in Computer Science or related discipline, preferred.

Security Clearance

• Holding active or previous experience and baged with the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) with Background Investigation (BI) is a plus.
